The Naito Family
Aloha Pas De Deux!
We're the Naito family, proud to be PDD's Family of the Month! It's truly an honor (and honestly, Kendall is pirouetting with excitement as we write this).
Kendall is the queen of twirls, pliĆ©s, and pirouettes in our house. She will be a 5th grader at Momilani Elementary School. and brings the same energy to the classroom that she does to the studio, which is to say, a lot. She loves drawing, hanging with her friends, and asking us after every class, “Wanna see this new combo I learned?” Spoiler: we never know the names of the moves, but we always say yes and clap like it's opening night.
Kendall started with creative movement at age 4, just as a trial run (so we said). Six years and many costumes later, she's in Prep Mini Ballet and Jazz with Ms. Kassie and ready to leap into Prep Junior next season. Inspired by her cousin Bostyn's dance tales, Kendall jumped feet first into the studio and never looked back.
In addition to becoming the best dancer she can be, dancing has taught her valuable life lessons such as patience, resilience and confidence. She may not get the new move or combo right away, but she'll keep trying and practicing until she gets it. And there is nothing like seeing her on stage, performing her little heart out.
Dad, Kurt, works at HMSA and proudly is the official bun maker as a fully converted dance dad. Mom, Lynn, works at Island Insurance and is in charge of everything else related to dance. Kendall's (twin) brothers Josh and Luke, age 15, are entering their sophomore year at Pearl City High School and are anxiously awaiting their time to get their driver's permit.
We're endlessly proud of Kendall's growth, passion, and the joy she brings to every class. Her dream? Dancing en pointe with her friends, and we're here, cheering and clapping the whole way. Thank you to Ms. Wendy, Mr. Jeremy and PDD staff for nurturing a studio that sparks such passion.
Tendu very much!
