Dance Instructor

Risa Yoshimura was born and raised in Japan, where she trained at the Izumi Kawamura Dance Company. In 2010, she earned second place at the Yokohama Competition, and in 2012, received the Dance Plan Award. She later studied various styles of dance at Peridance Center in New York as a recipient of the Cultural Affairs Agency of Japan’s Overseas Study Program. Risa moved to Hawaii in 2015 and joined the faculty at Honolulu Classical Ballet in 2022. She currently choreographs and teaches at both Honolulu Classical Ballet and Mid-Pacific Institute.
